God when I was younger how I loved field trips. A chance to get out of ‘real’ school for the day. Whoot! Well my boys are first graders and going on their  very first field trip. Unfortunately, they are going on separate days. That means two days out of work to spend with about fifty first graders. I wonder if I will survive. Can a story be gleaned from this situation?

The trip doesn’t take us to any place super cool like the morgue. (Would I be dating myself if I said you know like in Fast Times at Ridgemont High?) Not that the Springs Preserve won’t be educational and fun. Just not the kind of fun a paranormal author might be looking for. Alas, we shall make the best of it and forge ahead. Maybe I can learn a few details about the native wild life. Something I can perhaps turn into a shifter of some sort? Now we’re talking. Of course, that is if I survive the outing.

As I have one little guy who is upset that he has to wait two weeks before he gets to make the trip, I am making a note to myself that future school outings will hopefully be closer together. Will let you know if I was driven to the brink of insanity, or if the voices in my head kept me entertained and away from going over the edge. Hope your week is off to a great start!
